The big move - Leek School of Art

from old to new....

the final move day has arrived! Leek School of Art - Buxton & Leek College has been in the Sugden building since 1886 and today the art dept moves out! There has been much sorting, much throwing, much keeping (we are art tutors after all!) much discovery of past student work from way, way back...quite a trip down memory lane remembering students from years ago...thinking oh I remember them... I wonder what they're doing now? Art staff have walked into this small but lovely office for many years with this inspiring quote above the door 'one ought every day at least to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture and, if it were possible, speak a few reasonable words' - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe....and are now moving to the fab new build. sad day to be leaving this history filled building but very exciting day to start the new phase of the art dept at Buxton and Leek College in the amazing new build.
moving to this amazing building....

the view from my desk!! - definitely time for a sort out!!
works of art from Marie (ex students) with either a Johnny Marr theme, Marmite or just great humorous illustrative work that makes you laugh. Great student.

my board of pics to make me smile when works tough!!

Chat Robinson...making a visit to us at work from sunny France. Chat sat at this desk for many years before he left us and headed to sunny France...visiting us on a trip back to Leek..photo opportunity time!!
