Staffordshire University Degree Show ' 'Show & Tell 2014'

Staffordshire University's annual Art and Design Show celebrates the work of students graduating from our range of art and design degree. I love going to see this show and this year was really exciting as we saw 4 ex Leek School of Art students graduating;
Zo Maltby Baker &  Sarah Thorley studied BA (hons) Fine Art,  Phillipa Higginson BA (hons) Surface Pattern and and Laura Dawson BA (hons) Illustration. It was wonderful to see their fantastic work at the end of their degree after 3 years of leaving Leek. Actually bumped into Sarah and Zo and had a chance to catch up with them. Managed to catch a performance of Sarahs. As part of her exhibition she performed a cleaning session mopping the floor of the exhibition space and then exhibiting the cloths in her exhibition - dated and timed. Really interesting to see the wide range of work in her exhibition - photography, graphics, installation and performance. Zo's interactive space was really interesting - entering a dark room like a nightclub with lights and sound. Zo is now off to MMU to do an MA in Contemporary Curating and Sarah will pursue her fine art practice.

One of my favourite exhibits at the Fine Art show- (though this may have something to do with being a rather big Johnny  Marr/Smiths Fan) - a Smiths installation - daffodils, posters and a box of Smiths vinyl and deck.
